English Regency Period Mahogany Writing Table with Pedestal Ends 33 Inches Wide

About the Item

English Regency period mahogany one drawer pedestal end writing table with black hand dyed and tooled leather writing surface. This small elegant writing table has downswept legs ending in brass toes and casters. It is finished on all four sides so it free stands in a room. The front and back sides look exactly the same, but one side has a working drawer and the other has a faux drawer. It's clean lines and small size (33" x 20") make it adaptable to many situations so it can be used as a side table or a dressing table as well as a writing table. Circa 1825.

    Replacements made: The original leather was in tatters and had to be replaced. We replaced it with English cowhide that has been hand dyed (black in color) and hand tooled in the same manner as the original leather. Wear consistent with age and use. This is a very stable and comfortable table to use. and is in excellent condition.
