An impressive and palatially scaled French 19th century Transitional st. Moucheté Mahogany and ormolu Bureau à Cylindre desk. The exceptional thirteen drawer roll top desk is raised by elegant cabriole legs with fitted ormolu sabots with handsome paw feet and acanthus leaves. Inside are five additional drawers showcasing the beautiful Moucheté Mahogany wood grain and displaying charming ormolu floral pulls and eight storage compartments. Each side displays recessed panels also showcasing the beautiful wood framed within fine mottled border with large additional pullouts extending outwards and each retaining their original gold tooled leather writing surface with the back being finished and decorated in a similar manner with elegant recessed panels.
