A truly stunning and exquisitely made piece, this is pure art furniture from every angle, this sitting in the middle of a room would command attention from everyone that sees it, the top has a thick, cattle hide triple paneled leather which has been hand dyed and antiqued this lovely deep cigar brown, the gold leaf tooling is super luxury, the frame is flamed mahogany and it the right light is simply golden
This design is based on the Thomas Chippendale Nostell House Priory desk from 1766/77, it is one of the finest examples of his work ever made
Condition wise the desk has been sympathetically washed back and traditionally French polished from the ground up, the leather tops have been hand dyed, this really is the finest example of this type of desk you will see anywhere in the world today
Naturally this is very very heavy, it splits into three easy to transport pieces, you have the two pedestals and the one large top
