Karl Springer Style Lacquer Parchment Desk

About the Item

Here is a very handsome desk or writing table in the style of Karl Springer. The desk is not marked, so we're unsure of its maker and designer. However, we've seen similar examples of the faux parchment or goat skin lacquer technique, which this desk exhibits, in pieces by Ernest C. Masi. But whoever designed and made this stylish desk, it's quintessential 1970's style. The desk is in good condition with the usual wear consistent with age and use. There are light scratches and some small lacquer losses which have been sensitively retouched. All in all, this desk displays beautifully and would be a stunning addition to a room or office where a writing table or work space is needed. Could also serve a nice sideboard or console. A very versatile piece!

Modern off White Lacquered Desk Brass Details Style of Baughman or Springer
By Karl Springer, Milo Baughman
Located in Topeka, KS
Stunning modern off-white lacquered desk with brass plated details between the drawers and a brass plated toe kick in the style of Milo Baughman, Karl Springer, Lane. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. It has been professionally cleaned and waxed. The top surface has a stain and there is an all over patina as you would expect with use and age. The brass plating at the toe kick is showing its age with pitting and rust. It could be replaced or painted if it bothers you. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Late 20th Century. What a phenomenal desk!! This is an awesome… possibly custom-made, modern off-white laminate desk...
