Manufactured by obscure Rorimer Brooks co. of Cleveland Ohio . Art Deco or Moderne Writing desk in matte black lacquer with cream accents . Bank of five drawers to users right side additional pencil drawer over kneehole . Attractive from any angle Asymmetric form of the desk allows for bookshelves in the one rounded corner high lighted in cream lacquer . Plinth base with incised speed lines also accented in cream lacquer . Matching chair included . Black lacquer finish with recent green mohair upholstery . Rorimer Brooks is maybe the first American firm to design execute and install complete interiors . As well as one of the largest design firms west of New York . Founded by Louis Rorimer becoming Rorimer Brooks after merging with competing Brooks Household Arts company another interior design firm in the early 20th century . . Rorimer stated he was an artist first, a teacher second, and a businessman third, believing art was an essential ingredient in daily life. With this philosophy, he vigorously promoted and used the cleaner, more utilitarian designs of modern art, as opposed to Victorian styles. From 1918-36, Rorimer taught architural design at Cleveland school of Art .
