George III Linen Press

About the Item

Made with strong mahogany wood in the Mid-18th century in England, this linen cabinet is of the most desirable. Extremely fine proportions of the linen press of the wardrobe, which would have been expected from any piece during this period. The wardrobe's color is stunningly vibrant that it almost glows like the sun; the highlights and the shadows of the wood create a beautiful dimension throughout the entire piece. The pattern of the wood throughout the piece is also to be noted for its amazing organic shapes and curves. The carpenter paid close attention to the wood patterns and used it to their advantage of intentional placement to make this piece even more cohesive. Topping it off with a hand carved crown to sit above it. There are four drawers--two small drawers over two large drawers accompanied with its original brass hardware and locks. The entire piece has all of its original parts and has been standing tall for centuries.
