18th c. Swedish Painted Secretary with Library
About the Item
This is an exceptional Swedish secretary with library, circa 1780. This secretary has retained its original brass hardware and locks and is wearing black paint on the exterior with beautiful blue paint on the interior. The upper section has three shelves, the top shaped and slotted for utensils. The slant front opens to reveal sixteen small drawers, including 4 shaped drawers on either side of a center door. Below are five drawers. The desk surface height is 30.69 inches.
