Biedermeier Secretaire

About the Item

A strong, elegant piece to keep you perfectly organized! Crafted of hand-hewn fir and ash and veneered with thick hand-cut ash veneers, this chest offers storage for everything. A long, locking upper drawer rests above a fall-front inner compartment which opens to reveal ten letter-sized interior drawers with bone escutcheons, four "secret" drawers, a pair of open compartments and a center locking cabinet. The fall front provides a serious writing surface of bookmatched ash veneer. Completing the piece is a trio of deep, locking drawers. The original locks and keys are functioning and provided.
