19th Century Swedish Mahogany Chiffonje, Writing Agency - Cabinet by Karl Johan

About the Item

A 19th Century, antique Swedish Biedermeier writing agency, secretary table made of hand crafted polished, partly veneered Mahogany with a writing flap, designed by Karl-Johan in good condition. The detailed Scandinavian secretaire is composed with three large drawers and one small one on the top. The inside consists many different sizes of storage spaces, compartments with two white marble columns and a lunette fan, particularized by brass fittings and wood carvings. The cabinet, cupboard is standing on four short tapered feet, consisting its original brass hardware and keys. One drawer door knob is missing. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1840 - 1860, Sweden, Scandinavia. Desk opening: Karl-Johan was a Swedish furniture designer, born and passed away in Sweden. His personal life and professional training remains lost in history.
