Antique Burled Secretaire a Abattant

About the Item

A tall cabinet with carved cavetto cornice, over a slim curved frieze drawer and one upper and two lower long drawers. The middle faux drawers drop down to the secretary. The fitted interior with drawers, and a center compartment with door housing an inkstand with two glass bottles with silverplate tops. With patinated brass bat wing bales. Raised on carved paw feet on front and bracket back feet. The Batwing Pulls are a later replacement however well in keeping with the styling. Lacking a key. Measures : H. 62", W. 40", Depth 19 1/2" Condition: There repairs in a lighter veneer to the cornice edge, some wear to the center front and writing surface, stable age cracks to both sides and the top inkstand as is with losses (Please see detail photos).
