Chinoiserie Secretary Desk Two Piece

About the Item

Spanish Chinoiserie Secretary Desk, two parts. Desk features a lower chest with four storage drawers (two small drawers over two larger drawers), pull down door for writing in mid-section, and a double tombstone top with two doors. Mid-section (desk) opens to smaller shelving and nine small drawers. Desk feature lacquered wood with hand-painted scenes with Chinese figures and Asian landscapes, horses and birds , floral and fauna motifs. Inner doors and desk top feature white floral motif. The secretary desk was a popular piece of furniture in Europe, know for its functionality as both a writing desk and a storage unit for documents, books, and stationary. Desk has 'Made in Spain' stamp.
