Fine Inlaid Georgian Secretary with Falconer Pediment, Probably by Gillows

About the Item

Very good inlaid Georgian secretary with a falconer pediment, probably by Gillows. The secretary features glazed doors surrounded by inlaid stop fluted columns and capitals that are almost identical to examples by Gillows. The fall front opens to reveal a very detailed interior with hidden drawers, carved architrave drawers and document drawers. All on ogre bracket feet. The pediment of a falconer is possibly a 19th century addition. Please see photos from the “Gillows of Lancaster and London” by Susan E. Stuart.
