Free standing Swedish Modern secretaire in Walnut and Elm, 1940s

About the Item

Swedish Modern chiffonier / secretaire in Walnut and Elm from the 1940s by unidentified designer. Legs in dark stained wood. Maybe a piece unique made by a master cabinet maker for an order from a client. This piece displays a very high quality of craftsmanship with even the backside covered in book matched Walnut veneer. Because of that, it's possible to have it as a free standing unit, displaying all four sides. Also very light in appearance because of the thin legs which also make it look very elegante. This design has a bit of an Asian influence with the curved side wings on the inside, similar to details on Chinese furniture. Key included. Very good restored condition with minimal ware consistent with age and use.
