George III Mahogany Desk or Secretary Attributed to Gillows, English 1790

About the Item

George III amazing cabinet desk or secretary in mahogany wood, brass and leather with a drawers attributed to Gillows of Lancaster, circa 1780. The secretary in the photo was exhibited and purchased at the International Antiques Fair in Florence (September 18 - October 18, 1965). Along with the table, an original photo, stamped and issued by the antiquarian (Dr. Luigi Magnetti) from whom it was purchased at the Florence fair in 1965, is included. The secretary has undergone a restoration that has made it more solid and revived the shine with a resistant polish.
