Louis XVI Roll Top Desk, France 1780

About the Item

This unique Louis XVI Roll Top Desk was made in France around 1780. The outside of the secretary desk has a kingwood veneer with a gorgeous marquetry decor of diamond shaped yew wood inlays. The writing surface is covered with green leather. Inside the writing compartment are six small drawers and three open compartments. The cylinder desk comes refinished with a shellac polish.
