Pair Antique Country French Walnut Petite Secretaries
About the Item
Pair Antique Country French Walnut Petite Secretaries are truly an amazing and unique find! The design is unusually tall, shallow and narrow all at once, crafted entirely from fine French walnut and fitted with beautifully cast brass knobs and key guards. The top cabinet door drops down to reveal a small writing surface perfect for jotting down notes, topped with faux leather. On top we find a small display surface with a subtle contoured rail around three sides, underneath which appears the topmost full width drawer, Then there's the aforementioned secretary which when opened also reveals a cubby style storage with two tiny drawers. Below the secretary are two more full width drawers, then a cabinet that appears to be tambour but is actually a solid door that opens to reveal more storage with a single shelf. The sheer natural beauty of the wood is glorified in such a design, and further accentuated by the subtly scrolled legs and apron below, with the front legs being fitted with cast brass ornamentation. It's entirely possible we may never run across another pair quite like this one!
