Early 20th Century Chinese Display Cabinet

With its distinctly European design, this turn-of-the-century tall shop cabinet was likely commissioned by an expatriate in China, built to display the wealth of consumer goods available in Tianjin, a trade-rich port city in northern China. Crafted of hardwood, the glass-panelled cabinet is tastefully detailed with subtly carved floral motifs, molded feet, and an intricately crafted brass lock plate. Equipped with adjustable glass shelves and backed with a pristine mirror, we think this cabinet would look fabulous layered with towels in the bath.
