18th c. French Provincial Sideboard

About the Item

Antique French country sideboard dating to the mid-18th century has three drawers over two carved paneled doors that open to reveal a single shelf. Constructed from oak with a beautiful warm, aged patina, the sideboard features a planked top, a lovely scalloped skirt that adds to the charm and character of the piece, and curved cabriole feet. The caramel-hued stain further enhances the beauty of the wood and is in keeping with the current design trends. Use as a buffet in a dining room, a tv console in the living room, or as a cabinet in the foyer, for keeping your home organized in style. Found in France, dating to the mid-1700s. Constructed from solid oak. Original brass escutcheons, steeple point hinges, and turned wooden mushroom drawer pulls are present. No keys for the lower cabinet doors. The top is bowed and not perfectly level. The body of the buffet leans back slightly, however, is not structural. Typical separation in wood with overall wear is consistent with age. The piece has been cleaned and waxed for durability. Measures approximately 63.75” W x 22.25” D x 50.25” H.
