19th C. English Geo. III Marq. Inlaid Mahog. Hepp. style Serpentine Sideboard

About the Item

One of the Finest Antique English Geo. III Period Marquetry Inlaid highly figured Mahogany Hepplewhite style serpentine Sideboard with elements of Adam influenced marquetry inlays of satinwood oval fans/sunbursts, quarter corner fans and superb bellflower inlays of satinwood down the fronts of the square, tapered legs. The figured serpentine top has a wide satinwood crossbanded border. There is a central bowfront drawer flanked by two short, one over one drawers to the left side and a large "double faced" cellarette drawer to the right. The fronts of the drawers retain antique lion's head cast brass pulls. There is evidence that this sideboard had a brass gallery at one time but long ago was removed and the holes professionally filled in towards the rear of the top (and only mentioned for accuracy.) In fine, age-appropriate condition. Sideboard is only 24.75" deep at the ends and 26.5" deep in the center.
