About the Item

This charming Biedermeier sideboard originates from Southern Germany and dates to around 1825. Crafted entirely from solid cherrywood, the piece features a beautiful, warm grain and a particularly rare compact size, making it ideal for modern interiors with limited space. The sideboard offers two doors with recessed panels, a central divider inside, and original brass keyhole fittings with working keys. Restored with great care, it retains its authentic character while presenting in very good condition. The light gloss of the hand-polished finish enhances the natural charm of the cherrywood. This sideboard is an elegant and practical piece that blends historical craftsmanship with timeless design – a fine example of 19th-century German Biedermeier furniture.

Located in Darmstadt, DE
Authentic buffet is from the late Biedermeier / mid-19th century and was made of softwood. The furniture has a wonderful old patina which was only cleaned and re-oiled. The buffet still has the original locks and glass panes installed. The locks are functional. The glass panes are original mouth-blown from the time, with the usual flaws that have arisen in this production at the time. The middle part was probably extended in height a long time ago. The feet were added in more recent times. A wonderful handcrafted solidly made Farmhouse furniture...
