About the Item

Monumental early 19th-century Country French Provincial sideboard — or enfilade, as the French call it — crafted in the grand Louis XV style and sourced directly from Provence, France. Entirely hand-carved from solid oak, this substantial piece measures nearly 8 feet in length. It has been structurally revised for stability, while the naturally aged wood showcases a beautifully rich brown patina and striking grain throughout. The front features four asymmetrical carved doors with original escutcheon hardware and metal hinges. The doors have working lock mechanisms and come with two keys, opening to reveal spacious, divided storage. Additionally, there is a compact end drawer for added functionality. The cabinet is raised on hand-carved scroll toes, characteristic of the Louis XV style. Solid and stable, with exceptional joinery and craftsmanship, this piece embodies the timeless charm of classic French Provincial design. - Origin: Provence, France - Dimensions: W 91.75" x D 20" x H 41.25" - Condition: Excellent antique condition with age-appropriate wear. Structurally sound and fully revised for stability; the oak has developed a rich, natural patina over time, with minor surface imperfections consistent with age and use.
