Antique American Mid Atlantic States Federal Style Sideboard/ Restoration

About the Item

Beautiful American Federal style sideboard with a shaped bow front and darker banding. The top edge has string inlay framed moldings, The figured wood frieze drawer with fine brass bales with star motifs and escutcheon (lacking a key). Along with four separate painted compartments for cutlery. With a banded figured wood shaped knee hole flanked by cabinet doors (originally bottle drawers) with bold circular figured wood parquetry design. Raised on square tapering legs inlaid with bell flowers and with marquetry trim on the lower edge. Dimensions; 73 1/4" long x 25 1/2" deep x 37 1/2" high Condition: Please review the detail photos. With various signs of age and use including: The top has stable cracks on the right and left ends with a few minor scratches here and there. The left curved top molding is cracked, the front left top end molding is cracked. The frieze drawer has a slight loss to the corner top edge molding. Missing and chipped areas of veneer. There is slight verdigris to the brass bales but minor. While some level of restoration may be desired, the Sideboard retains an elegant Federal presentation.
