Chinese Interlocking Coin Offering Table

About the Item

This rustic, four-drawer altar coffer balances modern simplicity with humble, timeworn materials. Attributed to artisans of Xinjiang province in Western China, the sideboard is crafted of reclaimed pine with mortise-and-tenon joinery and richly textured with folk art carvings. The cabinet was originally used as a kang daybed, and has been modified into a coffer table with front-facing doors by our carpenters skilled in traditional joinery. The cabinet face is carved with an allover geometric pattern of interlocking coins, a motif carrying blessings of wealth and prosperity. Darkened to a rich brown finish, the console has a perfectly imperfect finish with aged patina and subtle wear. Additional Dimensions: Drawers: 13.5"W x 11.5"D x 4.5"H Table Apron to Floor: 18.25"H
