About the Item

From Niagara Furniture a vintage Councill Sideboard in excellent, condition with the top have recently been French polished to give it a straight from the showroom look. Simple yet sophisticated this beautiful Councill Sideboard has everything going for it. A slightly deeper size than many other high leg sideboards this item boasts a nice amount of storage space featuring one drawer and two large cupboard areas behind the doors. As an aded bonus there is also another storage space behind two doors below the drawer. Inside the top drawer is a factory original makers mark. The drawer is dovetailed with the secondary portions of the drawers being produced from American oak and the drawer also features drawer glides for easy opening and closing. The serpentine shaped front is a classic design feature and this shape is highlighted on the top of the sideboard and this shaping continues downward and is reflected on both the door and drawer fronts. High quality construction throughout is exemplified in the solid mahogany legs, the designer style hardware as well as the dovetailed drawers. Each cabinet area features a working lock and there is an original key that comes with the sideboard. This Councill Sideboard rests on six fantastic, inlaid tapered legs, each of which is surrounded by beautiful banding near the bottom. The four front legs each have wonderful, fine pencil thin inlays turning into bellflowers while the bottom of the case section is defined by a beautiful herringbone inlay pattern. If you can pick the piece up yourself at our warehouse in PA (with prior appointment) we can also offer a significant discount. As with all antique and used pieces of furniture there will be some small signs of wear and tear but overall this item is in excellent original condition. Measures 49″wide x 22″deep x 37″high
