Diamond Sideboard, in Bone White Finish
About the Item
The diamond sideboard plays with different planes. A collection of rectangular columns placed at random angles and depths forms a facade interrupted by two thick horizontal planes of solid wood. This array of volumes serves as doors to a fully functional cabinet, with adjustable shelves. The visual cues associated with doors, regularity in size, handles or hinges, are absent, making this sideboard about volume and presence.
Shown here in bone white ash and antique bronze accents, the piece is also available in blackened or grey ash, white oak and with hand-polished aluminum accents. Other sizes available: 46", 62", 98" and custom sizes.

Simon Johns
Simon Johns is a Canadian fine arts-trained designer working out of the woods in southern Quebec. He approaches design with hands-on studio experiments closer to sculpture than to design. His work draws from relations between the manufactured product and the raw surroundings of the studio's wooded location. His work has been shown at Sight Unseen Offsite for NY Design Week in 2016 and 2017, at Wanted Design Manhattan 2016 and 2017, and at the Toronto Design Offsite (TODO) 2017 and 2018.
