English William IV Mahogany Chiffonier with Carved Pediment and Ebony Inlay

About the Item

English William IV mahogany chiffonier with two open shelves framed by "s" scrolls inlaid with ebony. Two cabinet doors frame brass grilles which are backed with pleated green fabric and a mahogany interior panel. The cabinet doors are further framed by full twist carved columns which are proud of the doors giving an architectural aspect to the chiffonier. Ebony inlay is centered in the frieze above each cabinet door. The pediment above the two shelves is deeply carved with leaves and a central anthemion motif. Circa 1830.
