About the Item
A fine antique English mahogany sideboard by Frederick Tibbenham of Ipswich, England.
Features crossbanded conforming top surmounting five fitted dovetailed cockbeaded frieze drawers with crotched mahogany veneer, satinwood banding and punched floral ring pulls, all supported by four Hepplewhite style tapered legs. Accented by a brass gallery rail.
Documentation includes original makers paperwork/leaflet.
Custom made in England; circa 1920.
Very good overall condition, with a few minor surface imperfections and light wear commensurate with age and use.

Frederick Tibbenham (1884 – 26 June 1947) was a British cabinet maker and businessman from Ipswich, Suffolk. His company held a Royal Warrant for the production of furniture, and he also formed a construction company, working with some notable architects to design and build homes. During the two World Wars his factory made wooden aircraft propellers.
