About the Item

A fine four piece Gothic Revival sideboard in quarter sawn oak, with shaped molded edge top surmounting three fitted frieze flatware drawers, surmounting two single paneled door pedestals with raised decoration, the left door opening to a single shelf storage compartment, and the right door to reveal a bottle drawer below a small storage compartment. The pedestals are set into a fitted shaped base, and the entire piece features finely carved acanthus columns, accented with detailed capitals and carved drawer pulls, brass door pulls & escutcheons, as well as raised panel decorated sides. The lower center may have had a mirror back or panel at some point. The sideboard dates to the second half of the 19th century in very good condition, with a refreshed finish, minor losses and imperfections, and expected wear from age and use. A newer felted flatware divider has been added to the right drawer, and three holes have been cut in the back panels to accommodate newer electrical components. A great sideboard that could be repurposed as a bar or family room entertainment center! Dimensions: 42 in H x 85.25 in W x 28 in D. Ref: 8
