About the Item

This exceptional Italian sideboard was crafted in the 1950s and is attributed to Vittorio Dassi, with inlays likely executed by Anzani. The exterior is clad in parchment and features refined inlaid decorations inspired by classical and mythological themes, characteristic of mid-century Italian craftsmanship. Two sculptural column bases in gold leaf–gilded wood rest on circular bases of green marble and brass. The top is finished with green mirrored glass, adding depth and an elegant reflective quality. The interior is lined in maple wood and includes brightly colored drawers in yellow and red, offering a vivid contrast to the more subdued exterior. Combining fine materials and expert craftsmanship, this sideboard is not only a functional storage piece but also a striking decorative object that captures the essence of 1950s Italian design. Completely restored.

This bar cabinet was produced in Italy, in the late 1930s and is a really unique and special piece. Its tremendous historical and artistic value is what makes this item a real piece of art, hard to find and one of a kind. Firstly, let's talk about its history. It was produced most likely in 1939 in Mariano Comense which is a small village near Milan by the artist Giuseppe Anzani. Later on, he started also to master the art of wood inlay, becoming the most skilled inlayer of all times. His fame was so big that people from all over the world used to come to his little laboratory in the small and unknown village...
