About the Item
Italian Art Deco' Sideboard or Chest of Drawers in walnut wood with wonderful grain, design with a square shape of clear rationalist inspiration typical of the era, the stepped top is a clear example of this, as is the lower base of reduced dimensions specifically embellished with fine geometric carvings.
The Cabinetmaker wanted to enhance the beauty of the wood grain by demonstrating great skill in laying the walnut root in " open stain" , the top and the front of the drawers are amazing.
Of particular beauty and originality is the convex part in the centre of the four drawers, the cabinetmaker almost seems to have wanted to represent a waterfall with a fountain at the base, the drawers are embellished with splendid original handles in bakelite.
This piece is in good conditions as it has been recently restored by an expert craftsman.
