About the Item

Parmigiana flap in solid walnut from around 1760 made in the Louis XVI style, a key element of the Louis XVI style is the renewed interest in the themes of classical Greek and Roman culture, which leads to a preference for linear forms, geometric composure, symmetrical and evocative decorations of antiquity, evidenced by the elegant Greek key and the truncated foot pyramidal. Splendid flap with two slightly wavy drawers and a writing desk with four internal step-up drawers and an open compartment in the center Elegant grooved pyramidal truncated legs with narrowing. The body, in solid honey-coloured walnut, while the interiors are in poplar wood, in more recent times in the drawers paper has been applied inside for better use of the same. The sides always feature high-prestige workmanship with grooves on both posts, connected in the lower part always from the Greek typical of this era, while the central panel is in solid walnut, with skillful workmanship to allow a perfect fit. Period handles and locks present on the furniture. Even today, furnishings in this style are synonymous with elegance and prestige.
