Italian Late 18th Century Cherry Sideboard with Four Doors and Canted Sides
About the Item
An Italian cherry sideboard from the late 18th century with four carved doors, canted corners and scrolling feet. Created in Italy during the later years of the 18th century, this cherry sideboard features a polygonal planked top sitting above a perfectly organized façade showcasing canted sides. A pair of double doors, flanked by two single ones, open to reveal a distressed interior. The doors are all carved with discreet panels. The sideboard is raised on six scrolling feet whose sinuous lines contrast with the piece's linearity beautifully. The back is, of course, unfinished. With its good proportions, rustic character and authentic age, this Italian cherry sideboard from the late 18th century will make for a wonderful addition to any home, whether placed in a living room or dining room, perhaps topped with a mirror and a pair of candlesticks.
