Late 17th - Early 18th Century English Oak Sideboard
About the Item
Circa 1690-1720 oak sideboard from England. This is a lovely piece which displays the craftsmanship of a bygone era. The top is made from nicely grained planks, and follows down to simple sides which have a scalloped lower edge. The front contains three drawers, all with expertly hand-carved designed drawer fronts, surrounded by a simple banded edge. There is a scalloped edge below the drawers, which ties in nicely with the scalloping on the sides. The front legs are hand turned and the legs are simple in the back, for easy placement against a wall. The legs are joined by simple stretchers on three sides. This is a gorgeous piece of history that would look wonderful in any home or office.
