About the Item
Late 17th or early 18th century elm and oak pot board from England. This piece dates from 1690-1720, and has a beautifully grained two board elm top, following down to a case made from oak. The sides are simple and the front of the case contains three drawers with hand-carved drawer fronts. The drawers are surrounded lovely hand carved accents. The piece is supported on simple legs in the back, for easy placement against a wall, and hand turned and carved front legs with fluted accents. The legs are connected by a lower shelf, which is made from tongue and groove boards. Beneath the shelf is an apron with hand carved decoration in the front and simple sides. This is a rare and wonderful find!
