Rare Sideboard by Jos De Mey for Luxus, 1950s
About the Item
Stunning sideboard designed by Jos De Mey for Luxus (Kortrijk) during the 1950s. These early fifties designs by De Mey are very hard to find and much less known than his work for Van Den Berghe-Pauvers. It’s only the second time that I could find one of these and this time it’s the smaller version with two sliding doors with signature brass handles. Simple yet fantastic thanks to the great proportions and materials used, and of course the beautiful wood grain which provides the decorative touch. One of my absolute favorite pieces, in great restored condition.
