'Casulo' Scandinavian style Display Case in Brazilian Hardwood by Knót Artesanal
About the Item
Casulo display case is both contemporary and organic, the shelves and drawer are embraced by elegant slats gently rising and enclosing the area within.
Its minimalist form betrays its Scandinavian and mid-century modern inspiration, styles also shared by its sister pieces 'Nido' desk and 'Arca' shoe rack/bench the three together comprising Knót's Ripa Range of furniture.
Its imposing yet delicate structure make it as much of a showpiece as any items displayed on its shelves.
Handmade from Brazilian hardwoods Cumaru or Peroba Mica.
Knót Artesanal is a minimalist furniture studio composed of Brazilian architect Renata Gutierrez and Scottish woodworker James Rowland. Specialising in handmade pieces created using traditional techniques and a modern design from their base in Paraty on the tropical 'Green Coast' of Brazil.

Knot Artesanal
Knót (ki-no-ti) is the meeting of design, beauty and simplicity hand crafted in solid hard-woods. It was formed between Brazilian architect Renata Gutierrez (nó) and British woodworker James Rowland (knot), both passionate about the forms, tones and textures of wood. Our focus is on simple lines, quality materials and natural finishes. All of our pieces are handmade using traditional woodworking methods to create timeless contemporary pieces that not only need to be seen but also felt. This takes place in Paraty Brazil, the city in which we chose to live and work, nestled between the rainforest and the ocean.

Komodo is a statement of functionality, a modernist style nightstand that has been stripped back to its most minimalist elements. It is strikingly simple yet uniquely original.
Being wall mounted, Komodo frees up floor space usually occupied by the traditional four legs, it also means that it can be installed at any height depending on the style of bed it accompanies. It was designed with various angles in mind in order to reduce it to the most basic structure necessary to accommodate overnight items.
Installation is simple with it being mounted via two screws that slot into its rear remaining hidden, the manual provided includes a template for the screw positions.
