French 19th Century 1st Empire Period Mahogany, Ormolu and Marble Vitrine

About the Item

A most impressive and large scale French 19th century 1st Empire period mahogany, ormolu, and marble cabinet vitrine. The cabinet is raised by a straight mottled design base showcasing the beautiful mahogany grain. At the center are four doors with their original hand-blown glass panes with elegant curtains behind them and their original keys. The doors open to reveal their original hardware and the upholstered interior with two shelves. At the apron are most decorative richly chased pierced ormolu mounts of striking palmettes, finely detailed rosettes, and a central mythological figure. Above is the original rectangular Vert Patricia marble top. All original gilt throughout.
