Highly figured burr walnut double wardrobe

We are pleased to offer you this fabulous 1930’s heavily figured walnut wardrobe. It’s configured as a 2 door, full height wardrobe standing at just over 6 ft 3”. It has full hanging to the left and 3/4 hanging to the right each maintaining its original Art Deco chrome hanging rails. To the right is a very useful open cupboard which is ideal for smaller items that don’t necessarily need hanging, bags and hats etc. The whole is raised on 4 outswept bracket feet constructed in solid mahogany which slightly elevate this wonderful wardrobe. The 2 doors are veneered in the most fantastic burr walnut veneer which has mellowed to an absolutely gorgeous honey colour (see our Art Deco Wardrobes instagram video). This wardrobe is in absolutely immaculate condition having passed through our workshops and the hands of our skilled restorers. The lock has been removed and checked for functionality, oiled and refitted and operates via a small brass button you press to release the door. It is supplied with its key so is fully lockable. Internally the insides of the doors are beautifully veneered in figured walnut, a real mark of quality with chrome catches top and bottom, again, both stripped down, serviced, cleaned and refitted. The hinges are all original, cast brass and chromed, all removed, polished, oiled and refitted so altogether this should provide years of trouble free use and enjoyment. If when you take delivery of this wardrobe you find it’s a bit of a squeeze getting it up to a bedroom, it disassembles very simply down its centre line (all original) creating 2 manageable main pieces that can then be reassembled in the bedroom in just minutes.
