Italian Art Nouveau Ash Armoire Wardrobe, c. 1900

About the Item

Italian Art Nouveau Ash Armoire Wardrobe, c. 1900 The Art Nouveau cabinet from circa 1900 thought to be made in Italy. The details show a refined restrained elegance reflecting the Art Nouveau style in a clean modern reflection. It is made in solid ashwood with subtle brass inset details. The crown is beautifully carved with the iconic curves of Art Nouveau with three inset brass lines running horizontally across the top quarter of the front. The left door panel is inset with mirror. On the right side, the top cabinet two doors open to an open storage area. An open shelf leading to two smaller drawers and two subsequent wider drawers below. Finally a larger single drawer spans the near width of the wardrobe. The handles and fittings are made of brass. The feet end with brass clad details. Condition: Good overall structural condition. Some water marks and wear to the shelf on the right side. Missing some of the original brass hardware on the drawers.
