Fabulous Bar Cabinet with Mirror with Hologram Effect, Breakfree Collection
Located in Port Orchard, WA
Bar cabinet BreakFree, is a visual-emotional breakthrough into another dimension. The idea of the portal materialized in the piece of furniture that is able to reveal another reality to the owner of a bar cabinet, stimulate an emotional drive, and decorate the interior with an extraordinary sculptural shape. With the help of the remote control, with each press of the button, the mirror on the front of the cabinet turns into a hologram, which simultaneously serves as a picture and illumination with the effect of bright and dim light in the interior, which in the complex becomes a portal to another dimension. Asymmetrical elements of the facades resemble fragments of geological rocks or fragments of Martian landscapes, and holographic mirrors...

C R Mackintosh Guthrie & Wells, Glasgow School Stained Green Cypress Wardrobe
By Guthrie and Wells, Charles Rennie Mackintosh
Located in London, GB
Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928), made by Guthrie and Wells. A Glasgow School Arts and Crafts stained green cypress wood wardrobe, with white opaque textured square glass details to the top. The central door and a large lower drawer with brass heart escutcheons and brass stylized foliate hinges and handles. The simple case construction and stained green cypress wood and grouping of square details are typical of Mackintosh's early work for Guthrie and Wells including items bought by William Davidson for his house Gladsmuir, Kilmacolm. The brass cabinet fittings are identical on a number of pieces, see Billcliffe, p. 33, fig. 1895.2 and 1895.3 for a washstand and dressing table designed by Mackintosh, also made by Guthrie and Wells. Also a white painted wardrobe/compactum. The over-hanging cornice has been adapted with hinged flaps to move it up a narrow staircase. For a comparable piece see my other listing here for, C R Mackintosh...

Exceptional Gaston Poisson & Robert Pansart Cabinet Lacquered Mahogany, Art Deco
Located in Paris, France
This splendid and rare large furniture piece includes three doors with engraved signed keys from the artist Gaston Poisson, “GP”. This circa 1937 cabinet is made of green lacquered* mahogany and contains 12 interior shelves (three doors each with 4 shelves), each shelf featuring beautiful marquetry detail. The centerpiece of this beautiful cabinet is the large exterior mirror by Robert Pansart. This is made of "églomisé" glass with a polychrome geometric ribbon-like decor. Églomisé glass is a technique used often for mirrors that creates intricate decoration using golden leaves and silver. *THE LACQUER IS NOT ORIGINAL, THE CABINET HAS BEEN REFINISHED LATE 20 CENTURY Gaston Poisson, a cabinetmaker from Lille, France, is a renowned Renaissance designer best known for his modernist work. He has a unique taste for pure clean lines, mostly from the 1950s-1960s, which is exemplified in this particular piece. The square and diagonal motifs visible on the facade of the cabinet as well as the ornate marquetry on the interior shelves show that this piece was highly specialized, a well thought out piece made with incredible care. Robert Pansart is a French glassmaker and decorator who specialized in his unique technique of etching and oxidizing with “églomisé” glass. One of the most highly regarded glassmakers of his time, he mainly worked from post war years to the 1960s, and his work is reminiscent of a world based on fairy tales – evocative of the 1940s-1950s taste. His mirrors tend to appear in the antique art market and are valued as highly collectible pieces. Pansart mirrors were auctioned at very high prices at auctions at Artcurial and other major auction houses (see the last picture) Different works of the artist: Berliz Cinema in Paris Municipal Theater of Poitiers (see last picture) Theater of the Paquebot France

Louis Majorelle Gilt Walnut "Aux Pins" Vitrine

This gilt vitrine "aux pins" by Louis Majorelle is a masterpiece in Art Nouveau design. The gilt finish and simplicity of line that unifies the piece lend it a refined elegance, making it the perfect frame for carefully selected objets d’art. Louis Majorelle’s father Auguste had specialized in 18th-century style furniture, including the chinoiserie so loved in the court of Louis XVI. Louis Majorelle experimented with the pine motif at the same time as Rene Lalique. Both looked to East Asian Art...
