We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning original small Maple & Co Art Deco circa 1930s burr quarter cut Walnut Armoire wardrobe with drawers which is part of a large suite. As mentioned this is part of a suite, I have a medium sized normal single wardrobe which is pictured but not included with this listing, a bedside table and dressing table with stool all listed under my other items apart from the Dressing table set which will be next week. This is a small Ladies or Children's sized piece, It currently has shelves to the top which can possible be removed and a rail fitted for cost price, the base has large deep drawers. This is absolute quality and made by one of the finest British furniture makers Maple & Co. The whole suite has lots of high end details like acanthus leaves to the top of the little cabriolet legs, and carved floral designs to the middle top which is also curved. We have cleaned waxed and polished the piece from top to bottom, it has some light patina marks from honest age, please view the detailed pictures. Dimensions: Height 158cm Width 81cm Depth 55.5cm. Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask Maple & Co Antique Furniture 1870-1950 Maple & Co was one the largest and most successful British furniture retailers and cabinet makers in the Victorian and Edwardian periods. They were well known for fine quality, craftsmanship and were specialists in copying old designs but bringing them up to date to the more modern trends. They produced many quality pieces of furniture in designs such as Hepplwhite and Chippendale but also were well known for their quality Arts & Crafts Furniture. Maple & Co was first established by John Maple, a shopkeeper, Surrey, who later opened a furniture shop in Tottenham Court Road but it was his son, John Maple, who pushed Maples & Co to be such a huge success. With his skills in business, by the 1880s they were the largest furniture store in the world as they exported their Fine antique furniture to many different countries and were well known throughout the interiors world.
