Early 19th Century English Flame Mahogany Fold-Over Tea Table Origin: England Date: Circa 1820 Materials: Flame mahogany, brass Dimensions: Height: 74 cm (29 1/8 in) Width (closed): 91.5 cm (36 in) Depth (closed): 45.5 cm (17 7/8 in) Width (open): 91.5 cm x 91.5 cm (36 in x 36 in) A fine early 19th century Regency period fold-over tea table in well-figured flame mahogany. The D-shaped top swivels and opens to a square surface, supported on a turned column with carved quadripartite base, terminating in brass lion’s paw caps and castors. The timber displays rich colour and patination, with well-matched veneers to the frieze. Offered in good antique condition with light marks, small veneer losses and wear to the finish consistent with age and use. A handsome and versatile piece of Georgian furniture suitable for use as a console, side or occasional table. Condition: Good antique condition. Structurally sound. Light wear and marks, minor losses to veneer in places, commensurate with age.
