George III Revolving Table Drum in Mahogany Attributed to Gillows, English 1790

About the Item

A late George III amazing round revolving drum table in mahogany wood with a movable top attributed to Gillows of Lancaster. The circular top inset with a faded and gold tooled green leather above four full and four dummy frieze drawers, original brass castors and ring handles, English, circa 1790. The mahogany top is covered on one side with green felt. The table in the photo was exhibited and purchased at the International Antiques Fair in Florence (September 18 - October 18, 1965). Along with the table, an original photo, stamped and issued by the antiquarian (Dr. Luigi Magnetti) from whom it was purchased at the Florence fair in 1965, is included. The table has undergone a restoration that has made it more solid and revived the shine with a resistant polish.
