Antique Italian Louis XVI Neoclassical Giltwood Marble Top Center Table
About the Item
Antique Italian Louis XVI neoclassical Giltwood marble top center table is literally artwork expressed as furniture! The shield shape that is evident when viewed from above emphasizes four squared projections under which appear plinth blocks with rosettes which serve as mounts for the finely tapered, fluted and carved legs featuring lotus blossom motifs. The contoured apron assumes a bowed shape between the legs, and is festooned with floral rosettes of alternating designs in a continuous design that presents a beautiful side no matter what the angle of view! The gold finish has achieved a lovely patina and superbly highlights the carved detailing. The top features a luxuriously veined marble surface that adds earth tones, the wonderment of natural geology, and a carefree yet elegant top that will endear this lovely table to your family for generations to come!
