Continental 18th Century Louis XV Period Rectangular Walnut Centre Table
About the Item
An impressive Continental 18th Century Louis XV period walnut, giltwood and marble rectangular center table. The table is raised by elegant cabriole legs with a fine giltwood filet which extends along the border of each leg and across the arbalest shaped apron. Above each leg is a richly carved giltwood cabochon and fine pierced scrolled movements. At the center of each apron is a striking and wonderfully carved reserve with a smooth cabochon and intricate floral and scrolled design. Above is the original thick Brèche marble top with recessed rounded corners and a mottled border. All original gilt throughout.
