About the Item

An impressive French 19th century Louis XVI st. Napoleon III period ebony and ormolu center table. The table is raised by exceptional and most elegant topie shaped ormolu feet below the circular tapered fluted legs with Fine fitted foliate chandelles and lovely floral top and bottom caps. Each leg is connected by a scalloped X shaped stretcher with finely detailed etched foliate designs and a striking central topie shaped finial with a berried laurel band and a charming acorn finial. Above each leg are ormolu rosettes centering the straight apron decorated with a wonderfully executed central pierced scrolled foliate ormolu plaque with charming intricately detailed flowers set on the ebony background also decorated with etched foliate designs. Above is the beautiful French polished top highlighting the beautiful ebony with a richly chased foliate ormolu band.
