French Empire Period Antique Mahogany Pedestal Center Table Gueridon
About the Item
A 200 year old period French Empire mahogany pedestal table guéridon with beautifully aged heavily worn warm rich dark patina. circa 1810
Hand-crafted in France in the early 19th century, have a white dished double molded marble top, over conforming apron, three columnar legs, joined by a shaped base, resting on rounded feet.
The photos taken outside in direct sunlight showcase the stunning antique mahogany coloring, attractive grain patterns, warmth, depth, character, and mellow glow that can only be acquired over very long periods of time.

As warm and attractive as it is useful, having the ideal size and proportions for a variety of different uses in today's contemporary interiors, including as a center table, side table, parlor lamp stand, or placed in the foyer as a striking yet unpretentious entry piece!
Condition:
Good antique condition with nicely aged warm rich dark patina over the whole. Retaining original antique character mark and rustic charm throughout, including desirable scars and mars, a very small area to the marble with someone's initials scratched in, typical age appropriate splits and old fill, evidence of two hundred year old woodworm pinholes, and expected surface wear consistent with age, use and handling. Very strong, sturdy, stable, structurally sound.
Delivered cleaned, waxed, with hand rubbed polished French patina finish, ready for immediate use and generational enjoyment!
Please note, to maintain the original patina we only lightly cleaned the marble. It does have significant buildup. If you would prefer it thoroughly cleaned prior to shipping please just let us know.
