About the Item
A handsome French Turn of the Century Louis XVI st. Japanese Lacquer and Ormolu centerpiece plateau. This high quality rectangular shaped "sur tout de table" centerpiece is raised on an Ormolu gallery with four supports and a reeded top edge. Above each of the four legs are impressive and elegantly mottled urns to either display flowers or candles. The urns surround the stunning Japanese Laquered display surface with intricately detailed scrolled gilt designs. At the center is the removable oval shaped Ormolu vessel displaying a mottled band at its base, mottled rim and ring handles.
