Important boulle marquetry centre table in the Regency style, signed CAILLAUX

About the Item

A stunning rare and important signed table attributed to Caillaux, (Eugène Paul Caillaux, active in the mid–19th century), Paris, ca. 1850/60. The craftsmanship is of exceptional quality. Polished tortoise shell is complemented with brass inlay in a elaborate foliage design. Detailed and expressive mounts depicting faces, male and female adorn the legs and side of this table in polished gilt bronze. It is finished with exquisite paw feet. A truly wonderful piece that would be sure to be the talking point in any room.
