18th Century, Italian Neoclassical Round Lacquered Wood Center Table

About the Item

18th century, Italian neoclassical round lacquered wood center table with marble top This elegant neoclassical table was made towards the end of the 18th century in central Italy. It consists of a valuable marble top ("fior di pesco carnico rosato") of circular shape, resting on a wooden structure finely carved and lacquered in white and gold. The band is adorned with a frieze phytomorphic with vine leaves and small clusters of grapes. Above and below are two reserves with geometric and palmette motifs. The legs are four, a central hexagonal section and three distal circular section, all grooved. The legs rest on a convex granite trilobed base with raised from the ground edged in carved wood, lacquered, golden and grooved. This table, which was created to be placed in the center of an environment, surrounded by chairs and also used as a dining table, can be thought, thanks to its small size, to be exposed in different environments, such as a study or a bedroom, or in a room next to the walls like a guéridon on which to expose frames, sculptures and other furnishing elements. Its clear color makes it easy to combine with antique furniture and especially modern, giving decoration, elegance and brightness to the spaces in which it is located.

  • 18th Century, Italian Louis XV Wood Center Table

18th century, Italian Louis XV wood center table This elegant and refined center cabinet was made in Turin around the mid-18th century. Characteristic of the high Piedmontese cabinet making, for this piece of furniture, a veneer was chosen with the particular wood, applied on the piece of furniture with a sophisticated game of mirrors and patterns of the wood grain. The furniture has a shaped and wavy top, and the wooden essence creates a chromatic game called "a occhio di pernice" (partridge eye). On the front it consists of two drawers and a compartment protected by two doors. The opening system of the doors is sliding, very rare and difficult to achieve. The mouthpieces of the locks are in chiseled bronze and gold, as well as the tips of the four legs that are arched and graceful, typical of the Baroque. This cabinet is perfect for any room and can also be exposed in the center of a room thanks to its finish on all four sides. It is also suitable alongside modern and antique furniture.
